“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.” 1 John 4:7

Weekly Happenings (August 13-17)

Kid’s Café: Kid’s Café will begin serving lunch on Wednesday, August 15.  REMEMBER TO SEND A LUNCH WITH YOUR CHILD UNTIL THEN!

Friday is the day all students will go to P.E. Please make sure your child wears their TENNIS SHOES and brings a water bottle.

Robotics: There will be an informative meeting for all families interested in our Robotics Program, Tuesday,  August 14, at 6:00 pm, at Central Creativity.  Central Creativity is located at 446 North 6th Avenue, Laurel.

PTO: All families are invited to attend the PTO General Meeting on Tuesday, August 28, at 6:00 pm, at the Laurel Christian High School Campus.

Registration Forms: Please make sure all registration forms are turned in to your child’s teacher. (Consent Forms, Emergency Cards, Carpool Information, and PTO Membership Forms)

Be sure to put your child’s name on all lunch boxes, backpacks, jackets, etc.

Student Absences: If your child is absent please send a note when your child returns to school explaining why they were absent.  If your child goes to the doctor you may send a doctor’s excuse instead of a handwritten note.  Your child’s absence will be counted unexcused until a note or excuse is received.

Uniform Reminder: Students are required to wear their school uniforms purchased through Land’s End.  A recent addition through Land’s End includes the Rapid Dry Polo Shirt in cobalt blue. We understand that some of the uniforms that you have ordered may not have come in yet.  Please let your child wear a solid cobalt blue, or a solid yellow polo shirt and navy or khaki bottoms until they do arrive.  Please make sure your child wears a belt with pants that have belt loops.  All shirts must be tucked in.

Weekly Happenings will be sent home on Mondays. Weekly Happenings may also be found on our website:  “laurelchristian.org”.  If you would like something printed in the Weekly Happenings, please write or type the item and give it to Julie in the office or email it to “jkneipp@comcast.net”, the Friday before you want it to run.

Morning Carpool Line: Parents who want to walk their children in to the school, (IN THE MORNINGS ONLY), need to park their cars in the parking spaces facing Audubon Drive before the “double cones”.  DO NOT DRIVE ON GRASS TO GET TO AUDUBON DRIVE.

Morning and Afternoon Carpool Lines always move in the direction of SOUTH to NORTH – One-Way traffic only for the safety of our children.

Afternoon Carpool Reminders: Overflow from the carpool line should wind through Highland’s parking lot behind the school instead of lining up on 7th Avenue.  If you have children in different grades, please line up according to the oldest child’s pick up time!  Please wait to arrive at your oldest child’s designated pick up time!  Arriving too early creates a traffic jam and a delay in the carpool line!

1st – 3rd Grade Parents line up on the outside perimeter of the parking lot.  Your child’s pick up time is 2:40.  You should cross over 7th Avenue at 2:30.

4th – 6th Grade Parents line up on the inside section of the parking lot.  Your child’s pick up time is 2:50.  You should cross over 7th Avenue at 2:45.
