 Weekly Happenings (October 15-19)

Carpool Reminder: Parents, remember we have staff members in front of the carpool line to help your children out of the car and to get safely into the building.  Please make sure you are not dropping your children off and letting them walk in the parking lot to the sidewalk by themselves.  (Please remember this is for the safety of our students) 

Carpool Pick up Reminder: If you are going to be later than 3:15 picking up your child Please call the office and let us know.  Otherwise, the proper procedure is to send your child to Extended Care.     

“Paws For Ice Cream”: We raised $354.10 for the Laurel Animal Rescue League!  Wow!  Thank you! 

Little Dribblers (K5 and 1st Grade Boys and Girls) and Intramural Basketball (2nd and 3rd Grade Boys and Girls): Regular weekly practices will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at the elementary campus from 2:30pm-3:15pm.  

Tuesday, October 16: School Picture Day.  Order forms were sent home last week.  Please return the order form and payment to your child’s teacher on Picture Day.  Have your child wear their BLUE UNIFORM SHIRT and uniform bottoms. 

Friday, October 19: Box Tops Deadline!  Be sure to turn in your Box Tops!  Thank You! 

Friday, October 19: LCS T-Shirt Day.  Remember to wear an LCS T-Shirt and uniform bottoms. 

Friday, October 26, will be a half day due to the Church Reformation Conference hosted by Audubon Drive Bible Church. Extended Care will not be available.

Harvest Festival is just around the corner, and we are so excited about this year’s event!  We ask that every family support Harvest Festival by donating an item to the Silent Auction.  A silent auction item can be simple, such as a gift certificate to a restaurant, or it may be something more elaborate like a weekend stay at a family beach condo!  Nothing is too big or too small.   Please turn in your donations to the school no later than Thursday, October 25th.  Thank you so much for your support!  

Harvest Festival Raffle Tickets: Please turn in Harvest Fest raffle tickets and money to the school office as soon as you sell your booklets.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 5: The final day for tickets sales to count toward the Highest Selling Student and Highest Selling Class per school campus is MONDAY, NOVEMBER 5. Any tickets sold after this date will not count toward the student and class counts for prizes and pizza party.           

Canned Food Drive: Collection of canned goods will begin on Monday, October 29, and will continue through

8:00 am, Thursday, November 8. All items will be taken to the Christian Food Mission here in Laurel.   

Harvest Festival Dress-Up Days: In keeping with our LCS tradition, we will participate in “Dress-Up Days” during the week of Harvest Festival.  (Monday, November 5-Thursday, November 8)  Students may wear jeans (not jean shorts) as part of their dress up outfit.  If a student chooses not to participate in “Dress-Up Days”, they must wear their regular LCS uniform.  All clothing, including “dress-up clothing”, must be in accordance with the LCS policy for modesty and appropriateness.

Harvest Festival Singing Schedule: All K3-6th Grades will perform at Harvest Festival Night on the stage in the parking lot in front of the High School Office.  Please have your child there 10 minutes before their scheduled  singing time.  Please have K3-6th Grade Students wear their 2018 Harvest Festival T-shirt or any LCS T-Shirt with jeans or khakis for the singing program.
