Weekly Happenings (April 1014) 

Thursday, April 13:  LCS Baseball Home Game.  We ask that any 1st-6th Graders that are available to sing the National Anthem before the varsity baseball game arrive at 6:30pm. They will sing just before 7pm.  Again, this is for 1st-6th graders that are available, it is not a requirement, but we do encourage everyone who can to attend.  LCS will be playing Simpson Academy (District Game). For all LCS Students who wear an LCS t-shirt admission is only $1.00 (Adults $6.00).

1st, 2nd, and 3rd Grade Patriotic Program will be Wednesday, April 12th, at 8:10 a.m., in the Sanctuary.  Students, please wear uniform bottoms with a red, blue or white top.

LCS Players News:

 This Wednesday, April 12, is our first DRESS REHEARSAL.  Exciting!  Please bring everything you will need including shoes, hats, etc.  Coach Maner has assured me that the LCS Players who participate in track will be back from the meet in time to participate. Please hurry back to school in time for practice. It effects everyone in the cast when players miss practice. LESS THAN A MONTH TO PREPARE; EVERY PRACTICE COUNTS!

LCS Player small group AFTER SCHOOL REHEARSAL this Wednesday, April 12, 2:45-4:00.  IT IS SO IMPORTANT THAT EVERYONE IS PRESENT!   Cooper, Coen, Fletcher, Zoe, Katye, John Thomas, Ashleigh, Katelyn, Laken, Regan, Sam, Trinity, Emma, Will, and Madison. Thank you Regan Shoemaker’s mom, Ashley, for bringing snacks last week. Friday, April 14:  Good Friday. There will be No School or Extended Care.  

Monday, April 17:  Easter Monday. There will be No School or Extended Care.

Kindergarten Spring Program:  Wednesday, April 19, at 8:30 a.m., in the Sanctuary.  Parents, grandparents, and family members are invited to attend.  Kindergarteners may leave after their program; however, they have the option to stay for a regular day, also.  (Remember to send a lunch if your child does stay.)

Yearbook pictures needed:  Please send any photos you’ve taken of school events, school parties, field trips, etc. (especially 4th, 5th and 6th grades) to yearbook@laurelchristain.org.

Art Students:  “Day in the Park” is Saturday, May 6th.  Any student who would like to enter artwork may enter up to 2 works at $3.00 each.  Artwork MUST BE mounted on 1/2 sheet of poster board or mat board (no framed works) and brought to Mrs. Ishee NO LATER THAN WEDNESDAY, MAY 3rd, so she can turn them in for judging.  Also, any Laurel Arts League Winners Artwork or MAIS District Winners Artwork may be entered in “Day in the Park”.
