Weekly Happenings (October 2327)

Carpool Safety Reminder:  Remember to drive carefully and slowly at all times in the school parking lot.

LCS T-Shirt Day:  Friday, October 27.  Wear your favorite LCS T-Shirt and regular uniform bottoms.

Friday, October 27, will be a half day due to the Church Reformation Conference hosted by Audubon Drive Bible Church.  Extended Care will not be available.

PTO Fundraiser:  Deadline to turn in your ticket stubs for any booklets that you have sold and the money collected is Friday, October 27.  

Canned Food Drive:  Collection of canned goods will begin on Monday, October 23, and will continue through 8:00 am, Thursday, November 2.  All items will be taken to the Christian Food Mission here in Laurel.

Harvest Festival:  Thursday, November 2.  Harvest Festival will be at our High School Campus again this year.  There will be plenty of food, fun and fellowship.

Harvest Festival Silent Auction Items:  Donation Forms were sent home last week.  We need your help collecting items for the auction!  One of the items already donated is a beautiful Manger Scene painting by Mandy Buchanan!  All completed donation forms are due by Monday, October 23!!   This is our deadline date in order to get the Silent Auction Brochure to the printer on time!  Thank you!

Harvest Festival Dress-Up Days:  In keeping with our LCS tradition, we will participate in “Dress-Up Days” during the week of Harvest Festival.  (Monday, October 30 – Thursday, November 2)  Students may wear jeans (not jean shorts) as part of their dress up outfit.  If a student chooses not to participate in “Dress-Up Days”, they must wear their regular LCS uniform.  All clothing, including “dress-up clothing “, must be in accordance with the LCS policy for modesty and appropriateness.

Elementary Sock Hop Schedule for Wednesday, November 1:

9:00 – 9:20 am……..K-5

9:25 – 9:45 am……..1st and 2nd Grades

9:50 – 10:10 am……3rd and 4th Grades

           10:15 – 10:40 am…..5th and 6th Grades


Harvest Festival Singing Schedule:  All K3-6th Grades will perform at Harvest Festival Night on the stage in the parking lot in front of the High School Office.  Please have your child there 10 minutes before their scheduled singing time.  Please have K3-6th Grade Students wear their 2017 Harvest Festival T-Shirt or any LCS T-Shirt with jeans or khakis for the singing program.

It’s Here! The Annual 8th Grade Washington, D.C. Trip Smoked Turkey Fundraiser! It is an LCS tradition for our 8th graders go to Washington, D.C. for a hands-on, learning field trip. To raise funds, we sell delicious 

14 to 16 pound smoked turkeys from Houston’s Processing.   Delivery is the week of November 13, 2017.  The cost is $30 per turkey. Orders are due Monday, October 30 The turkeys will be wrapped in heavy-duty tin foil and will be hot & very juicy. They can be eaten that night, refrigerated for several days to enjoy or frozen and then allowed to thaw for later.  You can order through any 8th grader so he/she will get the credit and they will handle deliver, or you can respond to the email that will be going out to order, send your form into the office and proceeds will be divided equally between all of the students going.
